Adisutjipto International Airport (IATA: JOG, ICAO: WARJ) is the principal airport serving the Yogyakarta area on the island of Java, Indonesia.

It is located in the Sleman district, in the Yogyakarta Special Region, on the north east outskirts of the city, near the Prambanan historic site. Adisucipto Airport is the third busiest airport in Java, coming after Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) in Jakarta and Juanda International Airport (SUB) in Surabaya.

The airport lies within 15 minutes drive from the centre of Yogyakarta. The airport was changed from domestic to international airport on 21 February 2004 and served flights to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia by Garuda Indonesia.

There are prepaid ticket counter at this airport. You just have to name your destination and then pay the fare and get in to the assigned taxi (there is only one official airport taxi). Upon request, Novotel Hotel will arrange transportation to pick you up at the airport.

 

Adi Sumarmo International Airport

Adi sumarmo International Airport is Solo’s only airport that receives flights from different areas. It is located 60 kilometers away from Yogyakarta.

Adi sumarmo International Airport is located 14 km north of the town. The airport mainly receives flights from different parts of Indonesia. With 8 flights daily from Jakarta, Adi sumaramo airport mainly receives domestic travelers. However there is an international flight from Singapore as well. Operated by Silk Air, the flight provides the direct linkage between these two foreign countries. Apart from that, the low cost Malaysian airliner-Air Asia travels between Kuala Lumpur and Solo. Some of the major flight carriers, besides Indonesia’s national carrier-Garuda, that regularly fly to this airport are: Lion Air; Sriwijaya Air and Adam Air.

The other facilities at Adi sumarmo International Airport include a cargo building, quarantine facility, immigration counter and custom checking counter. Besides, other general services available at this airport are bank, konsesioner and public utility telephone booths.

Solo can be reached from Adi sumarmo International Airport by taxi. There are prepaid ticket counter at this airport. You just have to name your destination and then pay the fare and get in to the assigned taxi.Meanwhile, distance from Solo to Yogyakarta city is around 64 KM and could be reached in 2 hours by bus or taxi.
